The ‘BACK Together’TM Project (Bringing Advice, Care and Knowledge Together for women with back/pelvic pain)

Lower Back and Pelvic Pain (LBPP) in pregnancy do not have clinical guidelines available for the management despite the fact that over 2/3 of women experience symptoms .An intregratal part of this project is to find out more about LBPP in the community and we are hosting an online survey to gather as much information related to LBPP in pregnancy as we can.

The survey is currently for residentsof the UK only.

This consists of qualitative and quantitative questions to determine demographic details and are to establish periods of low back pain and at what stage of pregnancy they occurred. The use of exercise before, during and after pregnancy will be determined along with the type, intensity and duration of exercise, barriers to exercise and it’sperceived effectiveness for LBPP.

The use of complementary therapies by pregnant by women will also be investigated to determine the use and perceived effectiveness of a range of therapies including massage, acupuncture and reflexology within this population. In addition the perceived effectiveness of these therapies on other pregnancy associated symptoms and birth outcomes will be determined.

Please take a few minutes of your time to complete this important questionnaire and further our research into LBPP.
